Chinyerum Ikechi-Nwogu

DR. CHINYERUM GLORIA IKECHI-NWOGU has been a lecturer since 2007 at the Department of Plant Science and Biotechnology, University of Port Harcourt, Choba Nigeria. She received her education at the University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria with a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph. D) degree in Mycology/ Plant Pathology, Master of Science (M.SC) degree in Mycology/ Plant Pathology and she also holds a Bachelor of Science (B.SC) degree in Plant Science and Biotechnology. She is an avid researcher, and her work has been published in reputable journals. She is currently a senior lecturer at the University of Port Harcourt. AREAS OF INTEREST Her academic experience is in the field of plant pathology/Mycology. Her researches are focused on preservation of fungal cultures, plant pathology, developing solidifying agents that are readily available. It also extends to food preservation using edible medicinal plants that can inhibit or kill the pathogen without harming or releasing toxic substances to the food or the environment, molecular identify of fungal pathogens and educating women on some common fungi found in our kitchen and their health implications.
